As a Licensed Investment Advisor, Associate Portfolio Manager, and Responsible Investment Specialist, Joss practices mainly out of our Vancouver office on W Pender. Joss works primarily with families, educators, entrepreneurs, and change-makers. His main goal is to educate, empower and add value to leaders via the conduit of asset management who themselves are looking to make a real impact in the world – however large or small.
Joss was born and raised on Hornby Island, British Columbia, an island widely known for its strong community values and socially aware inhabitants.
After high school, Joss left for Denmark to pursue basketball for a year before experiencing a serious knee injury. This led him back to Canada to study business at the University of Victoria.
After University, Joss immersed himself in learning all aspects of the wealth management business. He spent three years rounding out his education and completing his certifications to become a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) Registered Investment Advisor, Responsible Investment Specialist (RIS), and Responsible Investment Association Certified (RIAC), all while growing his clientele, working in an assistant capacity to Anthony Edwards, and in his first year in an operations role at Leede Jones Gable’s Vancouver office.
In 2019 Joss became a fully licensed Investment Advisor and stepped into a larger role at EthicInvest as a partner and eventual successor. Joss is passionate about changing the narrative around ethical investment as well as doing everything he can to propel us into a sustainable future.
Today, Joss is a licensed Investment Advisor, Associate Portfolio Manager and Responsible Investment Specialist.
When not in the office you can find Joss coaching or playing basketball, practicing his Spanish in Latin America(where he lived in Nicaragua for two years), writing, podcasting or in Vancouver climbing the Grouse Grind (where he quietly boasts a 38:44 minute personal best). Joss prides himself on his passion for curiosity, in fact, you are most likely to find him on any given day sitting in a coffee shop picking the brains of the most outlandish & forward-thinking minds he can find.
